Single-Click TeleRadiology Workflow with Merge TeleRead™
The Consult PreRead service itself is tightly integrated with Merge’s Fusion RIS and RIS/PACS technologies, which are built around a multi-site distributed workflow model that is designed to enable Merge to provide a seamless workflow for Fusion RIS and Fusion RIS/PACS customers. Contrast this with the typical teleradiology workflow which usually requires many manual steps and significant data entry that can slow workflow and increase the likelihood of human error.
In addition to supporting our Consult PreRead services, in situations where our customers are expanding into the teleradiology service business, Merge’s new innovative TeleRead technology allows our customers to leverage automation to streamline the distribution of images and relevant clinical data to provide a comprehensive interpretation of the current study while mitigating the labor and error prone process of traditional teleradiology service deployments today. Therefore, radiology practices can focus on delivering teleradiology services and not the distractions with the administration and labor associated with the teleradiology service.
Merge TeleRead utilizes Merge Healthcare’s Fusion RIS/PACS technology, built around a multi-site distributed workflow model, which provides seamless workflow. Special worklists within Fusion RIS/PACS are connected to the Merge Teleradiology RIS/PACS. After an exam is completed, the tech can select the Merge Teleradiology option, or automated routing rules can be configured.
The completed teleradiology read, including the transcribed report and key images, will then appear in the appropriate radiologist’s or general worklist queue for your final read and signature. Then all the information is ready for placement on your Referring Practice Portal.
As a Fusion RIS or RIS/PACS user, there is no incremental work. You don’t have to learn new software, mark key images, or figure out complicated HL7 interfaces.
